Latest NDIS Quarterly Report

Since the NDIS was created, the NDIA has released quarterly reports to disability ministers on key information, including statistics and trends, about participants, their NDIS plans and the provision of NDIS supports in each jurisdiction.

The data in these reports is critical to the Summer Foundation’s work, tracking progress and informing our strategic priorities.

The 2022-2023 Q1 Report (covering 1 July 2022 to 30 September 2022) was recently published online. Notably, as at 30 September 2022:

  • 2,336 participants are living in aged care. Of these, 57 are under the age of 45. This decreased from 2,530 participants in aged care as at 30 June 2022
  • 604 of those young people in residential aged care (YPIRAC) have a goal to leave aged care, including 28 participants under the age of 45. This decreased from 652 YPIRAC who had a goal to leave aged care as at 30 June 2022
  • 1,732 YPIRAC do not have a goal to move out of aged care

From 1 July to 30 September 2022, 1,114 of 8,620 (13%) of Home and Living decisions were made within 14 days. This is a significant improvement from the previous quarter, during which time 287 of 7,616 (4%) Home and Living applications were made within 14 days.

The Summer Foundation is pleased to see that the NDIA is making more timely decisions.
