Dance of Dependence

Liz’s poem tells how she embraces life with her support workers.

Liz wrote her poem when she started living independently for the first time in her own SDA apartment. Liz had many people working with her and she started thinking a lot about her dependence.

Liz says:

“I sat at the computer and I had all these thoughts about dependence and what it would look like if I could dance and try and tell a story through dance and then the poem came out.”

Liz hopes her poem will help other people with disability and change people’s views and perceptions.
