Home and Living Outcome Framework

SDA tenant being interviewed by a researcher

La Trobe University and the Summer Foundation are investigating the experiences, outcomes and economic impact of people with disability moving into specialist disability accommodation (SDA). This 3-year, $1.64 million project is the recipient of an Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage grant, which will generate knowledge using the Home and Living Outcome Framework.

The Framework has been developed through rigorous peer-reviewed research to understand the impact of people with disability moving into SDA. This will ultimately benefit people with disability by fostering innovative practice in housing and support. The Framework fills an urgent need in the SDA market by using valid, reliable, and tested outcome measures. These outcomes are measured across several indicators.

The Framework will produce rich data to inform the whole SDA sector. This includes impact investors, housing and support providers, policy makers, and people with disability. Piloting of the Framework resulted in 2 peer-reviewed journal articles which are available below.
