Media Release: Summer Foundation launches #MyHomeMatters

#MyHomeMatters is a call for solutions to the issue of young people with disability living in nursing homes.

The Summer Foundation’s work over the past eighteen months has seen an increasing number of young people with disability and their family members lend their voices to the growing call to resolve the need for young people to live in nursing homes.

#MyHomeMatters harnesses these personal messages in the format of powerful digital clips to be shared on Twitter. The threads that link these messages are:

  • A call to stop forcing young people into nursing homes
  • A call for more and better housing options for young people with disability
  • A call to get young people out of nursing homes

These digital clips will target media, politicians and decision-makers in an effort to build a movement around the issue of young people living in nursing homes.

Please show your support for this campaign by sharing these clips on all social media channels with the hashtag #MyHomeMatters.
