Beyond group homes for NDIS participants
Everyone deserves to choose where and how they live.

We’re advocating for better housing and living options for people with disability.
Group homes don’t allow people with disability to choose who they live with or who provides their supports.
We’re working to make Individualised Living Arrangements (ILAs), where housing and supports are built around choice, connection, and independence, more available.
ILAs put people in control.
ILAs are built on the idea that our lives are better when they’re shared. ILAs start with how the person with disability wants to live, so they can look different.
They may look like a person with disability choosing to live in their own home with a supportive housemate. Or a person with disability living in someone else’s home in a host arrangement. ILAs foster greater independence, connection and safety.

We’re calling for urgent action.
We want to grow access to ILAs by securing fair pricing, growing the number of live-in supporters, and raising awareness.
ILAs enable more people with disability to live how they want to live.
Our economic modelling also shows that scaling up ILAs could save the NDIS $260 million over five years if 500 more people per year were supported to live in ILAs over group homes.
