More information about my experience:

I have worked with people with disability, and who live in the community, for over 4 years.

My role has included completing functional assessments (client and/or carer interview, observation, as well as standardised and non-standardised assessments) and comprehensive reports to recommend SDA and SIL, as well as for SIL-only accommodation. I have also supported clients to move to accommodation in a different SDA category as support needs change.

Also relevant to a move into supported accommodation or living includes ensuring other supports are in place. In this regard I provide:

  • Assistive technology assessment and prescription (custom wheelchairs (manual and power), mobile and ceiling hoists, activity chairs, shower commodes, height adjustable beds and specialised strollers
  • Manual handling assessment
  • Joint site visits to prospective accommodation services
  • Daily living skills training

I have over 4 years experience working with adults and children with disability. This includes people with physical disabilities, as well as intellectual disability and developmental delay. I provide face to face therapy for skills development, as well as assistance with assistance technology as other access needs.
