More information about my experience:

I am a Neuro/Rehab Physiotherapist, I have worked in Rehabilitation Units for approx. 20 years in NSW and QLD. Mostly recently I was the Senior Rehab Physiotherapist for Rehabilitation Unit at Bundaberg Base Hospital for 7 years (2011 – 2018). From Jan 2018 – Sep 2020 I worked at Community Lifestyle Support (CLS) in Bundaberg, a disability service provider working with people with intellectual and physical disabilities in the community and in the SIL homes. I started Chapman Therapy Solutions in September 2020 and provide Physiotherapy and Allied Health Assistant services providing therapy to clients and their carers to assist them to meet their therapy and functional goals. Equipment and Assistive Technology advice and trials including assessment and recommendation reports for NDIS participants. Functional Capacity Assessments and plan review reports for NDIS participants. When I worked at CLS I assisted OT’s with SDA applications and most recently completed a full SDA application myself with a support coordinator for one of my regular NDIS clients (awaiting outcome of the application).

I have skills working with:

  • Children and young people with disability
  • People in hospital
  • People living in or at risk of entering residential aged care
  • People seeking specialist disability accommodation (SDA)
  • People who are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
  • People with ageing or seriously ill parents/family

A little bit more about me:

I have extensive experience working with people with following conditions in acute and rehab settings as well as in the community:
Cerebral Palsy
Genetic conditions
Stroke
Brain Injury
Multiple Sclerosis
Spinal Cord Injury
Parkinson’s Disease
Kennedy’s Disease
NMO (neuromyelitis optica)
Orthopaedic conditions
Amputees
I work along side support coordinators, LAC’s, NDIA planners, OT’s and Speech Pathologists. I also work closely with local Equipment suppliers to assist Assistive Technology needs. OT waiting lists are long so I have honed my skills in AT assessment and Functional Capacity Assessment report writing to provide a wholistic service to the clients I support.

My professional values are:

The NDIS has made it possible to provide people with a disability with the therapy and equipment they need to achieve their goals and be as independent as possible. I work closely with my clients and their carers to help them achieve their goals. I get great pleasure in seeing my clients achieve amazing things!!
