A little bit more about me:

Miranda founded Occupation Matters in 2018 to deliver expert functional assessments, functional programs and occupational coaching for adults with injuries, illness and disabilities in Melbourne. Miranda graduated in 1994 with a BSc(OT) from Curtin University, Western Australia.

With more than 25 years clinical practice in Tasmania, NSW, ACT and Victoria, Miranda brings an innovative, empathic and person-centred approach to supporting people to maximise their independence and participation in everyday life.

Miranda has worked extensively in occupational rehabilitation settings, workplaces, hospitals and community health settings. She has also had other work experience including transformative workplace health and rehabilitation programs; measuring the return on investment of health and medical research funding; and, managing account relationships for large scale telephone, online and face-to-face medical services.

My professional values are:

Thriving through healthy occupation:

As an OT, Miranda is a passionate expert in helping Australians regain their health, rediscover their purpose and start to thrive despite experiencing injury, illness, disability or serious trauma.

Healthy occupation means that each Australian can engage in the activities and roles that are meaningful to them and contribute back to their family, workplace and community.

Miranda uses person-centred approaches to inform her work with people with disability. She uses occupational therapy models of practice, applies the Clinical Frameworks for Health Services Delivery to ensure evidence-based practices, and subscribes to the Health Benefits of Good Work.
