A little bit more about me:
I enjoy working as an occupational therapist and every day I get to assist someone with their goals whether this be to get out in the community more or learn a new skill such as cooking. I feel being an occupational therapist isn’t something you pick, it picks you. I have an extremely bubbly personality but can also get what is needed done in a timely manner.
My professional values are:
Some of the values I stick by when working with people with disabilities is firstly teamwork. Having a supportive team around can make all the difference. As they say, it can take a village. Communication is another big one, without it people can feel disrespected and unworthy, which does not sit right with me. Respect and trust are another two values I highly value. Respecting the dignity and rights of each client as well as creating an environment for clients that encourages open and honest discussions.
