More information about my experience:

I have been working as an Occupational Therapist since 1994. My experience has been in a variety of services including Public Health (Hospital and Community Health Centres), Royal Blind Society of NSW, Vision Australia, CRS Australia, Private OT & Rehab Services. I have had my own private practice since 2014.I have been working within the NDIS since the trial site in Newcastle in 2013. I have successfully assisted many participants to apply for Housing options to enable them to lead more productive and satisfying lives, and live in accessible housing to meet their needs. This has included assisting many to leave residential aged care facilities and move into SDA and SIL housing; and making recommendations for Community Housing modifications or relocations. I was involved with Summer Foundation as part of their trial housing project in Belmont, Newcastle in 2015. This included assessing and making recommendations for suitable applicants and assisting them with the transition to their new homes. I still work with some of those people today and enjoy seeing the positive changes to their lives since having an accessible home, close by to local services.

I have skills working with:

  • People from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • People in hospital
  • People living in or at risk of entering residential aged care
  • People seeking mainstream housing
  • People seeking specialist disability accommodation (SDA)
  • People who are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
  • People who are LGBTIQ+
  • People with ageing or seriously ill parents/family
  • People with high and complex health needs
