More information about my experience:
My journey to Occupational Therapy has led me around the globe to this small slice of paradise called Perth. I was first introduced to occupational therapy while working in China as an education assistant for young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I was impressed by the diversity of the profession and on a long shot, applied, moved and completed my Masters of Occupational Therapy here at Curtin University of Technology.
Prior to joining OTSG, I worked in different roles and mainly in the community and Aged Care sectors. I enjoy helping others and enabling their ability to achieve whatever goal they set for themselves in order to improve their overall quality of life. At this stage of my career, I would like to continue developing my clinical expertise, with an interest in universal design and creating spaces that are not only accessible for all, but also aesthetically pleasing.
I have skills working with:
- People in hospital
- People seeking specialist disability accommodation (SDA)
- People with ageing or seriously ill parents/family
- People with high and complex health needs
I have attended the following UpSkill training workshop(s):
A little bit more about me:
Originally from Staten Island, New York, I moved to Perth in 2014 after spending two years in Shanghai, China studying Mandarin and teaching English. Outside of work, I enjoy being active and healthy. I am always traveling and exploring different parts of regional WA and loves experiencing new cultures and being put out of his comfort zone. I spend my free time either playing basketball socially, training Brazilian Jujitsu or breaking a sweat at the gym. Occasionally you will find me reading a book; although often an audio book or long form podcast. I am committed to being a regular plasma donor at Australian Red cross Lifeblood, usually donating once a month.
My professional values are:
Treating others with respect and courtesy whilst coaching and collaborating with a diverse range of individuals with varying levels of ability to empower the participants I work along side to meet and exceed their personalized goals.
