Meet your UpSkill trainer

Linda Hughes

Linda is the Summer Foundation’s UpSkill Lead and manages the development and delivery of our UpSkill training program.

Having been immersed in the NDIS since launch in 2013, Linda is an NDIS expert, worked as a support coordinator, ran a support coordination business and led a support coordination team. 

She has a long history in disability advocacy and is the parent of a man who has disability. Linda promotes human rights, equality and inclusion of people with disability in all her work.

Vivien Williams

Vivien is UpSkill’s Program Trainer and has a passion for sharing knowledge and information through all of our training and resources. Vivien’s expertise lies in the Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) and housing space and she believes that all people have the right to independent home and living options that support a better quality of life. Vivien has a background in community aged care and is determined to provide support coordinators and allied health professionals with all the resources they need to generate positive outcomes for people with complex needs.

Virginia Mitsch

Virginia is an occupational therapist with a background in ABI rehabilitation, academia and project management. Virginia’s experience with NSW Health included 15 years working within the NSW Health Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program as a clinician, researcher and team leader and as a NDIS transition lead. Virginia was integral in developing the Summer Foundation’s Collaborative Hospital Discharge Approach leading projects in NSW, Victoria and QLD Health. She now runs her own consultancy business around the health and NDIS interface.

Laura Schutz

Laura has been living and breathing all things NDIS from the moment the scheme was launched in her hometown of Geelong in 2013. Laura is invested in building individual and sector capacity, confidence and compassion. 

With a passion for spreadsheets, templates, price guides and legislation, Laura is an NDIS expert, providing internal coaching and leadership within her team at Independence Australia, and external training and mentoring for the NDIS sector. Laura is one of the authors of our comprehensive ‘Good Practice Guide for Support Coordinators working with people with complex needs”.
