Collaboration and support for aged care community providers
The Government is committed to reducing the number of younger people living in aged care by improving access to more age-appropriate appropriate housing and support.
Aged care providers who have National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants living in their facilities are required to be registered as providers with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. We understand aged care facilities are not resourced or funded to do this complex and time-consuming administration. We are here to help.
How we can support your aged care facility
The Summer Foundation’s aged care engagement project will help by supporting providers so that young people can transition into more suitable housing in their community.
We will reach out to aged care executives to share how collaborating with us can benefit each provider and the young people in their care.

We will:
• Provide free 1:1 support with our aged care engagement team
• Connect you to like minded aged care providers
• Provide your staff with free access to resources and services
• Share your feedback with our government and industry networks
Benefits for aged care providers:
• Financial gains
• Time and skill gains for their staff
• Sector recognition both at staff and consumer levels
• Compliance support
• Safe and productive support to work towards YPIRAC government strategy

We are committed to supporting aged care providers
The Summer Foundation, established in 2006, works with aged care management to support young people to explore alternative and more suitable housing.
The Summer Foundation is seeking to connect with aged care providers to offer free support and work collaboratively so that younger people in aged care are provided with information, capacity building and support to find more suitable housing.
Our aim is to work towards a shared goal which is in line with the Government targets. The only young people to enter aged care are those who choose to be there; they are connected to effective NDIS plans; and are supported to implement their plans.
At the Summer Foundation we are passionate about supporting people with disability to live the life they choose and the life they deserve.

We hope to meet with you to share how a common goal can benefit your organisation and the people who use your services.
A face-to-face meeting would enable us to better understand how we can best provide our free support to you and the young people in your care.
