The government needs to know why young people shouldn’t be pushed into aged care. We have been helping people tell their stories to the Aged Care Royal Commission.
Are you younger than 65 years old and…
• live in a nursing home?
• are currently living in hospital or rehab?
• have lived in a nursing home at some stage in the past 5 years?
• at some time in the past 3 years have been told that you might have to live in a nursing home, but didn’t end up having to?
Or do you have a family member or someone you care about in one of these situations?
If so, you have an important story that the Aged Care Royal Commission needs to hear. You can make a submission up until April 2020.
Tell Your Story
We have prepared a guide to help you write and send your submission to the Royal Commission.VIEW GUIDE DOWNLOAD RTF VERSION OF GUIDE
From February to April 2019, we held 18 workshops in many places around Australia, to support younger people with disability and their families to make submissions to the Aged Care Royal Commission. So far, we have supported around 100 people with their submissions.
All information is prepared and presented by Summer Foundation to assist the public to provide submissions to the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety. The Summer Foundation is independent of the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety. You can contact the Royal Commission here.
