Every story matters

#every story matters

The government needs to know why young people shouldn’t be pushed into aged care. We have been helping people tell their stories to the Aged Care Royal Commission.

Are you younger than 65 years old and…
• live in a nursing home?
• are currently living in hospital or rehab?
• have lived in a nursing home at some stage in the past 5 years?
• at some time in the past 3 years have been told that you might have to live in a nursing home, but didn’t end up having to?

Or do you have a family member or someone you care about in one of these situations?

If so, you have an important story that the Aged Care Royal Commission needs to hear.

Tell Your Story

We have prepared a guide to help you write and send your submission to the Royal Commission.

Workshops

Since February, we have held workshops in many places around Australia, to support younger people with disability and their families to make their submissions to the Aged Care Royal Commission. So far, 77 people have attended 18 workshops, and we have supported another 15 people with their submissions via one-on-one interviews.
