How to write a Housing Plan
We are now starting to see funding for new build Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) in NDIS plans, but SDA is a complex and poorly understood NDIS support.
Only 6% of NDIS participants will be eligible for SDA. If you’ve been contracted by a participant with funding to Investigate Housing Solutions or for Improved Daily Living, it’s vital that you provide NDIA decision makers with Housing Plans that include the right evidence to determine the participant’s SDA eligibility.
UpSkill is presenting this workshop to build the capability of support coordinators and allied health professionals so they can write quality housing plans. The workshop will demystify the SDA pathway.
Penny Paul, an expert in SDA eligibility and author of the Summer Foundation’s NDIS Housing resources, will provide a brief introduction to SDA policy, context, objectives, SDA Rules and Summer Foundation’s resources. She will then work through the development of a successful housing plan and the occupational therapy report it relied on.
Workshop participants will get a USB with the Summer Foundation’s templates and guides for developing a housing plan. They will complete an exercise to apply what they’ve learnt and leave knowing how to write a quality housing plan.
