The vast majority of NDIS participants will live in a mainstream housing option and Valued Lives is hosting this workshop to inform participants, their family members and supports, just how crucial it is to have housing-related goals in their NDIS plans.
Penny Paul, Senior Policy and Research Officer at the Summer Foundation, will present the workshop, explaining the NDIA’s approach to housing. Penny will also describe the supports available under the NDIS to find and sustain a variety of mainstream housing options, and introduce specialist disability accommodation (SDA), explaining who it’s for, how it works and the eligibility criteria.
The Summer Foundation is at the forefront of demystifying the SDA pathway and Penny has developed the organisation’s NDIS Housing Resources, which she will introduce to you on the day and are available at: https://www.summerfoundation.org.au/ndis-housing-resources.
