| The Summer Foundation has joined other leading organsiations in the call for a National Disability Insurance Scheme, which provides for the establishment of a fund that will provide finanancial support to all people with a disbaility. Currently if people are injured in a workplace or vehicle accident they generally receive financial assistance, but if someone acquires a late onset disability or an acquired brain injury, they do not. | "We currently have a situation where what you get as the result of a catastrophic injury resulting in a disability is dependent on what state you were injured in, and the manner of the injury. The current system is absurd"
