Di Winkler established the Summer Foundation in January 2006 to find practical solutions to the issue of young people in nursing homes. In just over three years her passion and drive has overseen the growth of the Summer Foundation into an organisation that is now developing a number of well researched initiatives to ultimately resolve the issue of young people in nursing homes.

Kerry Stringer
Community Partnerships Manager

Kerry Stringer is well known in the disability sector and is passionate about working with people with disabilities and complex care needs. Kerry has extensive experience in the development and implementation of strategic plans and innovative services to meet the needs of this group, and her work at the Summer Foundation focuses on developing solutions.

Helen Harrington
Carers' Network Facilitator

Helen Harrington is an Occupational Therapist & Family Therapist with over 20 years of experience, specialising in developing innovative approaches to community based rehabilitation for clients with acquired brain injury, and their families.  At the Summer Foundation, Helen is developing a pilot Carer Support Network, for which the Summer Foundation received a grant from the Ian Potter Foundation.

Kate Carmichael
Communications Manager

Kate Carmichael has extensive event management and communications experience and her role is to produce electronic and print communications for all external and internal activities of the Summer Foundation, as well as manage special events for the Building Better Lives® campaign.

Carolyn Finis
Manager - Ambassador Program

Carolyn Finis has worked in various consultancy roles in the not-for-profit health sector, and at the Summer Foundation is responsible for managing the Building Better Lives® Ambassador program, a role which she has enthusiastically developed and which has resulted in the implementation of a series of workshops for young people with disabilities.

Susi Hammond
Office Manager

Susi Hamond has recently joined the Summer Foundation to oversee the office administration, and she is also responsible for keeping the accounts. Susi's role is not only limited to these two functions and this she is quickly learning - welcome aboard Susi!
