| | | | | ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR MALCOLM HOPWOOD MBBS (1986 MELB),MD, MPM, FRANZCP Position: Non Executive Chairman | | Malcolm Hopwood is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Melbourne, and is also a Director of the Brain Disorders Program (BDP) and the Psychological Trauma Recovery Service (PTRS) at Austin Health. In addition to considerable personal clinical experience in dealingwith psychiatric aspects of Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), he has led the development of the BDP into a unique multi-component service with inpatient and community neuropsychiatric rehabilitation services.He has conducted research into the phenomenology and neurobiology of depression and psychosis in association with ABI and, most recently, a major state-wide training program for all Victorian Area Mental Health Services on aspects of ABI and mental illness. He is a frequently invited speaker nationally and internationally on psychiatric aspects of ABI.
Associate Professor Hopwood has received research funding from a range of Commonwealth and industry based bodies. He has published over 90 journal articles or abstracts. He is a current member of the General Council and Chair of the Board of Research of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and Secretary of its Victorian branch. He has also been appointed to the World Psychiatric Association Global Network of Classification and Diagnostic groups. |

| DI WINKLER BAppSc (Occ Ther), Grad Dip Neuroscience, Grad Dip AppSc (Comp Sci), MAppSc Position: Executive Director, Chief Executive Officer | Di Winkler is an occupational therapist who has worked with people with severe brain injury for more than twenty years. Di was the Chief Occupational Therapist at Ivanhoe Manor Private Rehabilitation Hospital prior to developing a private practice working with people with brain injury in the community.
Di completed a Masters by Research at La Trobe University entitled “Factors that lead to successful community integration following severe traumatic brain injury”. Di established the Summer Foundation in January 2006. She is currently completing a PhD at Monash University which involves a series of studies that focus on young people in nursing homes. | | | | DR DANIEL F EVANS BSc, MSc, MBA, PhD Position: Non Executive Director, Secretary/Treasurer | Dan Evans’ career history comprises a unique combination of major professional services and mining & metals industry corporate experience. International management and technology consulting skills were gained as a Partner in Accenture following an extensive and successful initial career within the mining and metals industry as a senior executive with WMC Resources. Dan Evans is the founder & principal of Executive Compass, a management consultancy focused on business strategy & technology commercialisation projects for “C-level” executives within resources, biotechnology and manufacturing sectors. Through Executive Compass, he has initiated and project managed Southern African HIV Therapeutic Vaccine Project involving development of project strategy and creation of $6 million USD donor funding syndicate; developed Energy & Transport Sector Outlook to 2020 for CSIRO Division of Energy Technology; developed business case for ASX biotechnology client investment in biologic development facility for vaccine manufacture; developed or reviewed business start-up strategies for many international clients.Dr Evans currently serves on the Risk & Audit Committee of Scope and sits on the following Boards: Monash University Medical Foundation; Business for Millennium Development – Vice Chairman; RMDSTEM Limited (Non-executive Director, appointed Chairman June 2007); Australian African Business Council (Vic) (Vice President); Melbourne University, Centre for Global Innovation & Entrepreneurship – Industry Advisory Board. | | | | MARK TAYLOR B.Sc, FCA, FFTP, FAICD, FAIM Position: Non Executive Director | Mark has extensive financial experience, especially in the Property Industry, having jointly-owned and then successfully floated the Becton Property Group Ltd, playing a major role in transforming the private business into a significant listed property company. In over 20 years with Becton, he oversaw and successfully managed a number of executive roles including accounting, finance and financial reporting, treasury, tax, and Company Secretary, combining this with the potentially conflicting roles of owner, employee, Manager and Director. As a listed company Board member, Mark also carried out compliance, risk management and corporate governance duties. Since mid 2007, Mark has worked as a private consultant, in the areas of property, finance and succession planning to a number of mainly private, businesses. With knowledge gained in the private and public sector, his governance skills have been key to his attaining a number of board and advisory roles as well as being a member of the Summer Foundation Risk & Audit Committee and Property Advisory Panel. Jane joined the founder early in 2010 after 16 years at Grey Global Group, where she was Managing Director of their Melbourne and Canberra offices. Jane has completed post graduate studies in e-commerce and this year received her Masters of Entrepreneurship and Innovation from Swinburne University. Jane’s other roles include sitting on the Australia Day Committee and assisting the Sports without Borders Foundation. Previously she sat on the advisory board of RMIT, was an ambassador for World Vision, a Victorian board member of Alzheimers Australia and a national board member of the advertising industry body AFA. |
